Position Summary
FourQuest Energy is seeking an experienced and results-driven Operations Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our Houston team. This role is responsible for managing departmental operations, supporting field execution, driving financial performance, and leading teams in a fast-paced oil and gas services environment.
The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, sound operational judgment, excellent coordination skills, and a commitment to safety, service quality, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure completion of all safety responsibilities, including monthly safety meetings, site inspections, hours worked reporting, and other required activities.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety legislation and actively support FourQuest Health & Safety policies and practices.
- Communicate HSE issues or concerns promptly to leadership and provide constructive solutions.
- Ensure client safety obligations are fulfilled in accordance with contract requirements and communicated effectively to all involved personnel.
- Lead and promote a strong health and safety culture across all operational activities.
Operations Management
- Oversee the financial performance of the Operations department, including P&L, costing, and net income.
- Use cost-benefit analysis to set priorities and identify efficient, cost-effective solutions.
- Monitor departmental performance and adjust financial and operational resources based on progress toward goals.
- Plan, execute, and finalize operational projects/jobs in accordance with company and client procedures, timelines, and budgets.
- Coordinate departmental work plans, assign activities, and manage workflow across staff and contractors.
- Monitor all phases of projects, including change orders, project costs, schedules, budgets, and timelines.
- Manage procedure execution, equipment, and manpower in collaboration with the Project Manager.
- Ensure proper completion of field paperwork and invoice processing.
- Oversee equipment builds, maintenance activities, office facilities, and related upkeep.
- Manage subcontractors and vendors.
- Track employee hours, approve timesheets, and manage labor and subcontractor costs.
- Support proposal development by assisting with manpower, equipment, time, and material estimates.
- Provide operational support to other regions and business areas where FourQuest Energy operates.
Leadership & Team Development
- Perform annual performance reviews for direct reports and develop growth plans that support a high-performance culture.
- Lead workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, training, and employee development initiatives.
- Coach and mentor employees to support both professional and personal growth.
- Foster an environment that encourages innovation, accountability, and the demonstration of FourQuest core values.
- Ensure team members understand expectations and have the support needed to meet them.
- Develop, improve, and standardize procedures and methods to increase operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Assess workloads, administrative systems, and support functions to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Lead organizational and operational change initiatives within the team.
Collaboration & General Responsibilities
- Work closely with employees on site to address service-related issues.
- Partner with company leadership to set, execute, and monitor business goals and policies.
- Ensure adherence to FourQuest Energy’s HSE and Quality Management Systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Experience
- 10+ years of experience in oil and gas field services related to FourQuest Energy’s service lines.
- 10+ years of experience in commissioning and pre-commissioning.
- 5+ years of knowledge of FQE core services.
- 5+ years of experience supervising staff, including work planning, assignment, performance review, and training in a progressive work environment.
- 5+ years of experience with advanced administrative principles and practices, including goal setting, program development, implementation, evaluation, and project management.

- High school diploma required.
- Completion of a 2-year technical or community college diploma/degree in Chemical Engineering Technology, Petroleum Engineering, or a related discipline is considered an asset.
- Certificate or diploma in Management or Leadership is considered an asset.
Certifications
- Class C License required; CDL is an asset.
- Basic Plus required; TWIC is an asset.
- Basic First Aid is an asset; Advanced First Aid is preferred.
- PMP or equivalent professional certification is an asset.

Working Conditions
Schedule
- Standard office hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- As this is a management role, flexibility is required to meet business needs and fulfill job responsibilities.
Travel
- Travel for site visits will be required based on client and business needs.
Work Environment
- Requires constant attention, concentration, and alertness.
- Involves managing complex and sometimes high-pressure operational situations.
- Requires rapid decision-making and responsiveness.

Physical Demands
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
- Regular sitting, standing, walking, and bending.
- Majority of work is performed in an office environment, with field/site work as required.
