High Pressure Cleaning Industrial Supervisor
Job Summary
The High Pressure Cleaning Industrial Supervisor is responsible for planning, supervising, and executing high pressure water cleaning activities in industrial environments. This role ensures work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company procedures, client requirements, and applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise high pressure cleaning crews during industrial cleaning, turnaround, and maintenance activities.
- Plan and coordinate daily work scopes, manpower, equipment, and consumables.
- Ensure all high pressure cleaning activities are conducted in accordance with approved procedures and permits.
- Verify equipment selection, pressure ratings, and tooling are appropriate for the scope of work.
- Conduct pre-job safety meetings, toolbox talks, and hazard assessments.
- Ensure compliance with lockout/tagout, isolation, and confined space requirements when applicable.
- Monitor work execution to ensure safe distances, exclusion zones, and proper hose management are maintained.
- Maintain clear communication with clients, project management, and supporting trades.
- Stop work immediately if unsafe conditions are identified and implement corrective actions.
- Complete daily reports, job documentation, and incident reports as required.
Typical Work Scope
- High pressure water jetting and hydroblasting (5,000 – 40,000 PSI)
- Tank, vessel, and exchanger cleaning
- Line and piping cleaning
- Turnaround and shutdown cleaning support
- Coordination with confined space entry and vacuum truck operations
Safety and Compliance Responsibilities
- Enforce company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies at all times.
- Ensure all personnel are trained and competent for assigned tasks.
- Verify PPE requirements including cut-resistant clothing, face protection, and respiratory protection.
- Ensure exclusion zones and barricades are established and maintained.
- Confirm emergency response and rescue plans are in place prior to work start.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of industrial high pressure cleaning experience.
- Previous supervisory or lead-hand experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of high pressure water jetting hazards and controls.
- Ability to read and understand P&IDs, procedures, and job plans.
- Valid safety certifications as required by site or client.
Preferred Training and Certifications
- High Pressure Water Jetting Supervisor or Operator certification
- Confined Space Entry (Supervisor level)
- H2S Alive or equivalent
- First Aid / CPR
- Lockout / Tagout and hazard assessment training
Physical and Work Conditions
This position requires working in industrial environments, including outdoors, at heights, and in proximity to high energy equipment. The Supervisor must be physically capable of accessing work areas and wearing required PPE for extended periods.
