Job Summary
The High Pressure Cleaning Industrial Technician performs high pressure water cleaning activities in industrial environments, including turnarounds and maintenance events. The Technician operates high pressure cleaning equipment and tooling while following approved procedures, permits, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Operate high pressure water jetting and hydroblasting equipment under supervision.
Assist with setup, operation, and teardown of high pressure pumps, hoses, and tooling.
Perform cleaning of tanks, vessels, exchangers, piping, and equipment as directed.
Inspect hoses, fittings, and tools prior to use and report defects immediately.
Maintain safe hose management, body positioning, and exclusion zones during operation.
Follow confined space entry, lockout/tagout, and isolation requirements when applicable.
Maintain continuous communication with supervisors and team members.
Stop work and report unsafe conditions immediately.
Complete job documentation, inspections, and housekeeping duties as assigned.
Typical Work Scope
High pressure water jetting (5,000 – 40,000 PSI)
Tank, vessel, and exchanger cleaning
Line and piping cleaning
Hydroblasting and hydrolazing operations
Support of confined space entry and vacuum truck operations
Safety Responsibilities
Comply with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
Wear required PPE including cut-resistant clothing, face protection, and respiratory protection.
Participate in toolbox talks, hazard assessments, and safety meetings.
Understand high pressure water jetting hazards and control measures.
Follow emergency response and rescue procedures.
Required Qualifications
Previous industrial or high pressure cleaning experience preferred.
Ability to understand job procedures and follow instructions.
Physically capable of performing manual work in industrial environments.
Valid site-required safety certifications.
Preferred Training and Certifications
High Pressure Water Jetting Operator certification (Preferred)
Confined Space Entry
H2S Alive or equivalent
First Aid / CPR
Lockout / Tagout awareness
Physical and Work Conditions
This position requires working in industrial environments, including outdoors, at heights, and in proximity to high energy equipment. The Technician must be physically capable of lifting hoses, working in awkward positions, and wearing PPE for extended periods.
